FAQs

How do I book a shoot with you?

I'm thrilled you're looking to book a shoot with Moon Mirror! Please schedule a free consultation call, and we will book from there.

Do you require a deposit?

I don’t currently require a deposit. A 30% fee applies for cancellation without rescheduling.

What types of shoots do you offer?

Within portraiture I offer all types of shoots! Many of the shoots are birthday, maternity, and couples.

Do you shoot events?

I shoot small events, and offer services as a secondary photographer for large events.

Can I send you inspiration for my shoot?

Yes! I love when clients have inspiration from photos they’ve seen, or a concept that lives in their head. We can work together on building and strengthening your concept with a vision board and conversation. If you don’t have a concept in mind but are interested in booking a shoot, I’m happy to share a few ideas for you to choose from and build from there!

How long is your turnaround time?

Within 21 days after your shoot, I will send a digital file of your final, edited photos. You will have access to this file to download your images for 7 days.

Do you help with posing?

Yes. I’ll guide you through poses that feel comfortable, and look great!

How much do your shoots cost?

The starting rate for a shoot is $320. This includes shooting, time editing, concept building, and the cost of materials. For some shoots, there are additional material/studio fees that will be discussed prior to your shoot time, and accounted for on the invoice. I’m happy to work with other budgets, and am open to trades! If price is a barrier for you, don’t be discouraged from reaching out with questions.

How many photos will I receive from a shoot?

I will send you a minimum of 30 edited photos.

Do you ever have opportunities for free photos?

Occasionally I offer shoots at a materials fee or sometimes completely free basis. This is when I have a creative concept I’d like to shoot for my portfolio. When these opportunities come up I make an announcement via Instagram story. Modeling experience is not necessary to be a model for these shoots!

How long have you been shooting film?

I started shooting film during summer 2022.

Why do you shoot film?

I shoot film both for the visual qualities of it, and I feel it allows me to be truly intentional with every shot, due to the nature of limited shots per roll and the abilities of film cameras.

What camera do you use?

I’m currently shooting with an Olympus Stylus Zoom 70 35mm.

Do you develop your own film?

I get film developed at Fast Foto. I have been utilizing their services for years, they do a truly amazing job, and I trust them completely.

What if something happens to the film?

Luckily, this issue has never come up for me. If something happens during development and your photos are unusable, I’ll offer a complimentary reshoot.

What got you into photography?

I did my first shoot because I had an idea I thought would make a captivating, dreamlike scene. I scoured books and the internet looking for something like it, and couldn’t find anything. I asked a couple friends if I could take pictures of them with my vision for fun, and everything grew from there. Since starting I’ve learned how truly special it is to help another feel seen authentically, and make a moment in time something that exists forever. It is a huge honor for me to be allowed into such special moments in your life within the role of photographer!
